Christ commanded His followers to make disciples of all nations. Participation in disciple-making was not optional, but commanded and joyfully obeyed by the disciples. As followers of Christ, this command remains for us. Everything we do as missions seeks to have disciple-making as the end goal. Practically, we do this by following the pattern prescribed in Acts 1:8 and thus we have created teams focusing on our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the Earth. We believe that each follower of Christ should daily seek opportunities to make disciples who will make disciples, and we seek to equip our members for this service. We want to foster and encourage healthy and committed partnerships – locally, domestically, and globally, that are committed to making disciples of all nations.
We serve in several different areas throughout the city of Jackson. We currently support the work of local ministries such as RIFA, ARM, Birth Choice, and Youth Town, and continuously seek opportunities to work alongside these local partners. In addition, twice each year we have a church-wide “Serve the City” day in which we try and meet various needs within our community. Our Barnabas Men also consistently and faithfully serve as an extension of our ministry efforts in Jackson.
Our Judea efforts primarily focus on supporting and encouraging the work of First Baptist Gallaway, located in Gallaway, TN. We support this local church, which houses a school and a summer camp, by sending volunteers each summer to help run a VBS for the local community. We also help with a gift drive each Christmas for the children that are a part of Gallaway.
St. Louis, MO and Salt Lake City, UT
We have supported the work of a recent church plant, August Gate Church by sending teams and contributing financially to their work. We want to come alongside August Gate and partner with them in their mission and vision. We have also partnered with five local churches in Jackson, TN to send Timothy and Haley O’Day to Salt Lake City with the North American Mission Board. Our desire is to send out and support church planters throughout North America as the Lord provides such opportunities
Ends of the Earth
Brazil, East Asia, South Africa, and Southeast Asia
We have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Pioneer Missions and have worked alongside them in Brazil for nearly 20 years. Aside from taking trips to Brazil each summer, we also support and partner with two families living overseas. We seek to encourage, support, and undergird these families and their ministries in any way possible.
