FAMILY
I grew up in Miami, FL, and have also lived in Tallahassee, FL; Birmingham, AL; Rome, GA; and now Jackson, TN.  I met my wife, Susan Lee, while in Birmingham, AL, and we have been married since June, 1997.  She is my best friend and partner in ministry.  Susan and I have two daughters, ages ten and eight, and I am constantly amazed at how God is using them in my life!  I have one brother, Glenn, who lives with his family in middle TN, along with our mother, Rita.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
God’s wonderful gift of salvation became real to me at an early age.  I accepted Christ as personal Lord and Savior at age eight, and have enjoyed walking with God ever since.  Since the age of thirteen I have felt called into music ministry.  I responded publicly to a call to full-time Christian service in 1992, and was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in November, 1994, at the First Baptist Church of Tallahassee, FL.  I feel called to facilitate the corporate expression of God's people as we lift our praises in worship.

MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSE
2 Timothy 4:5 (HCSB)
But as for you, keep a clear head about everything, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

MY FAVORITE SCRIPTURE PASSAGE
Philippians 1:1-11 (HCSB)
1 Paul and Timothy, slaves of Christ Jesus:  To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and deacons.
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you,
4 always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer,
5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
6 I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
7 It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, and you are all partners with me in grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and establishment of the gospel.
8 For God is my witness, how I deeply miss all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
9 And I pray this:  that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment,
10 so that you can determine what really matters and can be pure and blameless in the day of Christ,
11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

BACKGROUND, EDUCATION, AND MINISTRY EXPERIENCE
I attended Northwest Christian Academy in North Miami for most of my elementary, middle and high school years.  Upon reaching my senior year of high school, I transferred and graduated in 1989 from New World School of the Arts, a performing arts magnet school in downtown Miami.  My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Music and was completed in 1994 at Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL).  God opened up a wonderful door of opportunity at Beeson Divinity School, which is an interdenominational evangelical theological school located on the campus of Samford University (Birmingham, AL).  There I pursued and completed the Master of Divinity degree with an emphasis in church music (2003).  I have been privileged to serve the Lord at churches in four states:  FBC Tallahassee, FL (Music and Worship Associate, 1991-1994); Dawson Memorial Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL (Music Associate, 1995-2003); Calvary Baptist Church, Rome, GA (Minister of Music, 2003-2006); and, FBC Jackson, TN (Minister of Music, 2006-present).  The Lord has been so good to me, in that He has afforded to me some wonderful vocational and educational experiences.  I am grateful to see how He has used these stops along my life's journey to prepare and equip me to embrace His continued will for my life.
